DEVON GRANDY (New York, New York)

We here at Break Out The Oreos are good New Yorkers–we boo our Republican mayors, salivate over sexy corruption scandals, and remain moderately aware of our hockey team (go fuck yourselves, Islanders). So it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody that we quickly caught this lovely culmination of the aforementioned trifecta: GOP Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin being booed during the ceremonial puck drop at last night’s Rangers-Flyers game in Philadelphia. The unbeaten Rangers spoiled Philly’s home opener by going up 4-0 by the end of the first period, but what was really most interesting was the response to the Alaskan governor’s first public appearance since the news of her “abuses of power” broke. Take a look for yourself:

Yowza! America’s favorite hockey mom being booed by an arena full of “Joe Six-Pack” hockey fans? Could it get any worse? Only if Alaskan First Daughter and soon-to-be-mother Bristol Palin is confirmed to be the singer in the following video:

Big tip to The Centrist Voice for alerting us to the Palin brouhaha. In other sports news, is there any doubt that a Phillies-Red Sox World Series would be the worst possible thing for a post-9/11 America?
